About Me
Anneliese Lloyd BSc MSc Pgdip
Cognitive Behavioural Therapist
I am a BACP accredited cognitive behavioural therapist based in South Wales. I gained accreditation in 2016 and have worked in a range of mental health and support settings for 14 years, including the NHS. I have a psychological background through my 8 years of study to MSc level.
My approach is underpinned with empathy, understanding and warmth and I believe a good working relationship with my clients is key to therapy.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an effective approach to issues involving all types of anxiety and depression. It can also be an effective aid to managing stressful life events, every day stresses and facilitate self growth and motivation.

CBT explained
-
Cognitive behavioural therapy is a talking therapy that is developed, tested and supported by scientific research.
-
Not only is your therapist there to listen to and support you, you can work together to identify the problems you have been facing, discuss strategies for addressing them and find solutions.
-
Therapy is tailored specifically to you and your needs, strengths and issues.
-
Not only does CBT help develop coping strategies, it can help identify, develop and support a more enjoyable way of living.
CBT benefits

-
Due to the collaborative nature of CBT, it empowers you to make positive changes in your life and allows you to take control when you feel ready.
-
Due to the structured nature of sessions, it is easier to see what you want out of therapy and see your goals being achieved. It also helps to monitor what aspects of therapy may or may not be working for you, therefore allowing your therapist to make changes when needed.
-
CBT is considered to be a short term and cost effective therapy. During the sessions you will learn to become your own therapist and learn techniques that you can use long after the therapy has ended.
